Are you using SAPKW74009 here? If yes, can you please implement the following notes using

transaction SNOTE and check whether it helps you with regard to the issue about using a hierarchy as a variable in a query:

2101236 - Missing data in query with artificial characteristic Currency/Unit

2101188 - BICS: Filter on structure element is reset to initial selection

2096560 - BEx Web 7.40: Termination when using exceptions or conditions

2092810 - Filter variable on structure becomes ignored

2068075 - BICS: Values of exit variables remain empty after refresh
